Approach to CSR and SDGs

Under a CSR policy of contributing to the economy, society and environment as eyes for industry to realize its corporate philosophy, Tamron aims to enhance its corporate value and develop a sustainable society. In 2007, we set twelve CSR themes against the backdrop of the internal and external environment of the time. In the time since, we have set goals and targets on a yearly basis to inform our activities.
In today’s world, however, as typified by the phenomenon of global warming, the sustainability crisis has steadily advanced, and with various social issues such as human rights and labor becoming increasingly serious, there is an even greater expectation placed on the initiatives companies pursue to solve social issues. In December 2017, Tamron identified key CSR issues and redefined its twelve CSR themes in order to promote initiatives designed to solve social issues in the medium-to-long term.
