Portraits by Yohei Sawamura with TAMRON 35-150mm F2-2.8 (Model A058) for Nikon Z mount
“A lens that allows the photographer a wide range of creative freedom." I often talk about this when talking about cameras and lenses. The TAMRON 35-150mm F/2-2-2.8 Di III VXD (Model A058) for Nikon Z mount that I used this time was just like that.
The 35-150m F2-2.8 is a Nikon Z mount version of the very popular 35-150mm F2-2.8 for Sony E mount lens which already in the market. There are already so many people who know how good this lens is that I don't really need to talk about it. The lens is an exceptional lens with a wide focal length range of 35-150mm and starting from F2. The specification makes me feel “of course it's going to be fun."
I usually use a single focal length lens when taking portraits, but when shooting outdoors or when I want to capture natural subjects, I give priority to using a zoom lens. In addition, when shooting only with a single focal length lens, the photos tend to be presented in the same way, so I change lenses to add variety to my work, but when shooting outdoors, it may not be possible to change lenses depending on the weather and various other conditions. Also, changing lenses can disrupt the tempo of the shot. With this lens, you can shoot most of the focal lengths you want for portraits without having to change lenses. Moreover, with brightness ranging from F2 to F2.8, it is possible to take pictures that make the most of bokeh. Such a convenient lens is hard to find.
I felt that this lens allows the photographer a wide range of creative freedom. You no longer have that "what should I do?" feeling while shooting, such as disruption of shooting rhythm by changing lenses, the lack of focal length when you want to zoom more, the difficulty of using a zoom lens when you want to take advantage of the bokeh effect of a wide-angle shot, and the desire not to raise the ISO when it is getting a little dark. Using this lens, you can continue shooting freely, and this can be a reason to take surprisingly good pictures.
I was most concerned about the quality of the images when I was shooting with this 35-150mm F2-2.8, but they were perfect with no problems at all. One of the reasons I use Nikon Z series is their excellent color and resolution. It’s gentle but solid, but not too strong. It is almost the same as the TAMRON lenses that I have been using and have found to be very good. The combination of TAMRON lenses and Nikon cameras was problem-free, and the images captured the atmosphere I wanted to create. Those who already have a Nikon Z series or are interested in the Z series will be interested in this TAMRON 35-150mm F2-2.8. No need to worry. Your creating images will be as good as or better than your ideal.
As long as you have this lens, it is quite useful for portraits as well as landscapes and snaps. There might many people who take photographs but find it difficult to have a variety of lenses. If you have just this lens, you can shoot anything and be satisfied. Please take this lens to take pictures of anything and enjoy photography!
