Wildlife photos by Alexander Ahrenhold with TAMRON 150-500mm F5-6.7 (Model A057) for Nikon Z mount
I have always been fascinated by wild animals. As a child, I enjoyed exciting nature documentaries with breathtaking scenes. Seeing the details of animals and observing them up close is what drives me in nature photography these days. In order to get the wild animals on the sensor in as much detail as possible, the highest quality tools are essential. With the TAMRON 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD (Model A057) for Nikon Z mount, I have such a tool on my Nikon Z system mirrorless camera.
The first photo: Focal length:500mm Exposure:F6.7 1/800sec ISO 2500 Camera:Nikon Z 8
Last year (2023), I used the TAMRON 150-500mm F5-6.7 and was able to experience and capture many beautiful moments with it. No matter what type of safari I did, this lens was always the right choice. On a spontaneous trip to Africa where my luggage was limited, I decided without hesitation to use this variable ultra-telephoto zoom lens. I was able to photograph the wild animals of Africa in all sizes and facets without being disappointed. If they were too close to me, I could relax, reduce the focal length, and capture my moments. I was able to fully concentrate on photography because I didn't have to think about changing the lens.
On the safari in my home country, the birds were the subjects I wanted most. Sitting for hours, I waited for the bird species, which couldn't be more different. The variance in both color and body size is hard to beat. The lightning-fast autofocus bit into the eyes of the hectic animals and landed one hit after the other. The different sizes of the birds could be easily adjusted using the ultra-telephoto zoom so that I always had the right image section without having to change the lens.
In September, I traveled to Saxon, Switzerland where I photographed a lot. With the light ultra-telephoto zoom lens in my backpack, I was able to find new perspectives on long hikes. Thanks to the VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilizer, I was able to photograph the landscape handheld, even without a tripod. The brilliant sharpness of the ultra-telephoto zoom lens was retained.
For me, the TAMRON 150-500mm F5-6.7 is the universal solution for animal and nature photography. With the ultra-telephoto zoom lens, I always have the right focal length, on my compact mirrorless camera system.
