Produce for the world

Overseas plants undertake mass production through the adoption of quality requirements and manufacturing technology developed in Japan. Automation is extensively deployed while sustaining given quality standards. And products are shipped all over the world.

  • Production by large-scale facilities
  • A continued pursuit of high quality

Production by large-scale facilities : Glass material is delivered to the Foshan plant. A large number of lens elements are polished every day.

Production by large-scale facilities : A significant number of high-precision grinding machines are installed to support large-scale production.

Production by large-scale facilities : The strength of the Foshan plant is its ability to polish a wide variety of lens elements based on technologies transferred from Japan.

Production by large-scale facilities : Lens elements are placed on a coating dome and loaded into a vacuum deposition chamber in the clean room. The installation of various types of coating equipment allows a diverse range of coatings to be available and supports mass production.

Production by large-scale facilities : Coated lenses are moved to an automated cleaning process. Residual abrasives and contaminants are completely removed.

Production by large-scale facilities : Large molding machines are equipped with molds fabricated at the Omiya headquarter site. More than 50 machines are optimally positioned on the plant floor.

Production by large-scale facilities : Robotic arms continuously pick up molded plastic parts such as lens barrels and other components.

Production by large-scale facilities : A large number of metal machining tools are installed on the company premises enabling quick and self-sustainable mass production.

Production by large-scale facilities : After pre-processing using NC lathes, grooves are fabricated at a machining center. This process allows high-precision cam grooves to be efficiently produced.

A continued pursuit of high quality : Molded components are inspected before assembly. Geometric dimensions are measured in nanometer order using 3D measurement equipment.

A continued pursuit of high quality : Skilled and extensively experienced workers inspect the external appearance of each product. In addition, they also inspect the feel, noise and other aspects of each lens.

A continued pursuit of high quality : Each lens carries an individual serial number that specifies the manufacturing site and date to ensuring traceability.

A continued pursuit of high quality : Tamron lenses are packaged and prepared for shipping. Products are shipped around the world through Tamron sales hubs and distributor networks.
