TAMRON APPOINTS JOHN VANSTEENBERG AS SENIOR EDUCATION MANAGER

Newly Created Position Strategic in Expanding Tamron’s Presence in the Marketplace

August 29, 2008, Commack, NY - Tamron USA, Inc. announced the appointment of John VanSteenberg as Senior Education Manager, a new position created to fulfill the increasing need to educate consumers, dealers, and sales representatives in this fast-paced and increasingly complex SLR lens market. VanSteenberg has held several positions with Tamron over the past 25 years.

“This new position was created to help deliver Tamron’s marketing message at the crucial level of grass roots education,” stated Stacie Errera, Chief Marketing Officer and head of the team VanSteenberg now joins. “The fact that John will spearhead our educational efforts is exciting for Tamron—he has tremendous strength in the public speaking arena and years of experience and ability to both convey our message and educate at many different levels.”

Among his responsibilities in this new role, John will be tasked with developing deeper relationships and a stronger presence in the school market and with professional photographer associations across the US, many of which he is already an active member. He will also be instrumental in building training content and seminar programs for sales associates, sales representatives and end-users.

Tamron is a leading manufacturer of lenses and optical components for photographic, industrial, laboratory, video, digital and scientific applications.
