September 1, 2008, Commack, NY— Tamron USA, Inc. announced the delivery of a new mini-dome camera (Model: DCV12NR4 [NTSC] / DCV12PR4 [PAL]) on the heels of the rapidly growing, highly diversified dome camera market. Using its sophisticated resources acquired through long-term development and sales of high resolution/high quality lenses, Tamron has launched a high-definition mini-dome camera with a variety of unique features, including a built-in high magnification 3.8-45.6mm Tamron zoom lens.

THE DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT

Targeting all-weather outdoor applications requiring telephoto and day/night capabilities, Tamron offers a high-magnification mini-dome camera, covering 3.8 wide to 45.6mm telephoto while providing high resolution images for security use. Such areas include airport and homeland security, parking garage, municipal buildings and public domain spaces like campuses, hospitals, and the like. Tamron’s “Install AF Mode” dramatically improves the process of time-consuming focus adjustment of its mini-dome camera at the installation site, thereby providing great efficiency for installers.

MAIN FEATURES

Extended 12X telephoto zoom lens in a mini-dome camera

– Features a 12X optical zoom lens boasting a focal length of 3.8-45.6mm, the best zoom ratio in its class of mini-dome cameras

– Covers speed dome class range of 3.8mm wide to 45.6mm telephoto (5-60mm when converted for use with a 1/3-inch camera), making it widely acceptable for outdoor applications as well as indoor uses

High resolution design

– Equipped with a 1/4-inch format 380K CCD (440K in PAL) for 540 TV lines horizontal resolution

– Advanced lens performance by virtue of its high resolution design and aspherical lens provides excellent image quality even in image corners

Enhanced installation and adjustment efficiency

– Manual triple-axis adjustment (Pan/Tilt/Rotation) settings allows panning ±360°, tilting ±80°(±70° at wide-end) and rotation ±360° to ensure optimum viewing

– Grip on the rotation mechanism provides ease-of-use and smooth operation. Markings on the rotation portion indicate the correct screen position, allowing you to precisely set horizontal alignment on the monitor

– Motorized lens enables simple and speedy lens adjustments at the touch of a button. In addition, since the camera features an Install AF Mode designed to perform continuous auto-focusing for 30 seconds after dome cover installation, defocusing after installation can be prevented

– A monitor output terminal is provided near the operating button so the camera can be connected to a monitor via the conversion cable. This simplifies the confirmation of the appropriate angle of view at the installation site

– Screw holes are provided on the wall-mount for gang-box installation

– Rubber strap prevents dome cover from falling

– Quicker mounting of the cover with three screw holes

Ideal for outdoor installations

– Vandal-resistant and watertight/dustproof (IP66) designs appropriate for outdoor applications such as under eaves

– Supports day & night function for 24/7 surveillance
