The pictures on the subject matter must be in good taste. Only three (3) entries per person.

The Americana - Photographs that define American Culture grand prize winner will receive a magnificent Tamron AF18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 VC Di-II Aspherical (IF) Macro zoom lens* in Canon or Nikon mount and have his or her winning image showcased in Tamron's Viewfinder magazine. The winner and up to 20 favorites will have their winning images published on the Tamron website Photo Gallery and on Tamron's page on Facebook for all to see.

*If the winner owns a Pentax or Sony DSLR, a Tamron AF18-250mm Di II will be substituted. If the winner owns a full-frame camera, the Tamron AF28-300mm VC Di (in case of Canon or Nikon DSLR) or Tamron AF28-300mm Di (in case of Pentax or Sony) will be substituted. No other substitutions allowed.

RULES

  • The winning photo will be chosen based on originality and overall quality by our guest judge Judith Pishnery, professional photographer and SCAD/Atlanta professor. Pishnery has been immersed in the field of photography for over 25 years. She was always artistic, encouraged by her grandfather, and when she discovered photography her future was determined. She has worked with corporate, editorial and advertising clients creating images for brochures, magazines and other printed materials, throughout the US and abroad. Her fine art photographs have been shown and collected internationally. Along with creating photographs, she has been sharing her passion and expertise by teaching photography students in various art colleges and schools for more than 20 years. She leads creative photographic workshops in the US and abroad and is currently a professor at SCAD/ Atlanta. See her work at http://www.pisconeri.com/. All decisions are final.
  • No manipulation beyond color correction, conversion to black & white, brightness and contrast.
  • Only three (3) entries per person.
  • You MUST include all information such as: File Title, File Description, Tamron Lens & Camera used. If you do not include the Tamron lens used, your image(s) will not be considered for any prizes.
  • Winners may be asked to sign an affidavit of eligibility and grant of rights, and to submit all model releases and comments required for publication. By entering, contestants certify that photo(s) are original and do not infringe on any third-party rights.
  • You must be 18 years or older to participate.
  • Contestants will retain the rights to their photographs. However, contestants grant Tamron USA, Inc. and its agency unlimited rights, for 18 months, usage of the winning image, the winner's name, photo, and likeness in any advertising/promotion efforts by Tamron USA, Inc.
  • Contest is open to professional and amateur photographers using Tamron brand products. Employees and families of Tamron USA, Inc. are not eligible.
  • Open to U.S. residents only. Any images submitted from outside the U.S. will not be considered for any prizes.
  • Images can be uploaded as jpg files no larger than 95K or submitted by mail* on cd or emailed* in jpeg format. Prints any size (color or black/white) or duplicate transparencies (no originals) may be sent by mail.
  • Entries must be received by October 31, 2009.
  • The winning image, along with up to 20 runners-up, will be posted in Tamron's Gallery section by November 15, 2009.
  • Void where prohibited by law. Any tax on the prize is the winner's sole responsibility.
*Only in the case that you are not able to upload the image(s) yourself, send the photo(s) via USPS or email and we will upload it for you.
